Maître Gims

Maître Gims, the stage name of Djuna Bilel Gandhi (Kinshasa, 6 May 1986), is a French rapper and singer born in the Democratic Republic of Congo. He is a member of the group Sexion d’Assaut.
He arrived in France when he was two years old. He comes from a family of musicians, his father is the leader of the group Papa Wemba. The rapper cited as his influences artists of the caliber of: Snoop Dogg, Nate Dogg, Tupac Shakur, Eminem, Lil Wayne, 50 Cent, Marvin Gaye and Michael Jackson. With the collective Sexion d’Assaut, he has released several albums obtaining numerous successes and duets of international fame. In May 2013 he released his debut solo album, Subliminal, selling over 1 000 000 copies and launched his first line of Vortex clothing. Together with Vortex he launched his own label MMC (Monstre Marin Corporation).
