Alvaro Tauchert Soler was born on January 9, 1991, in Barcelona, the son of a German father and Spanish mother: for this reason, he has been bilingual since childhood. He moved with his family to Japan at the age of ten and remained in Japan until he was seventeen: here, among other things, he learned to play the piano. After returning to Barcelona, Alvaro Soler founded the band Urban Lights together with his brother and some friends in 2010. The band performs in a musical genre that is a mix of indie pop, British pop, and electronic music and begins to make a name for itself.

In 2013, Urban Lights participates in the TV program “Tu sì que vales!”, reaching the final; in the meantime, Alvaro Soler is studying at the Escuela de Grafismo Elisava, dedicating himself to industrial design, as well as attending a music school. While working as a model for an agency based in Barcelona, Alvaro Soler leaves the band in 2014 to try his solo career moving to Germany. After settling in Berlin, he publishes the single “El Mismo Sol”, written with the collaboration of Ali Zuckowski and Simon Triebel and produced by Triebel himself. the song is distributed from April 24th, 2015, and gets a great success especially in Italy, winning first place in the Fimi chart and getting a double-platinum record; positive are also the feedback in Switzerland, the Netherlands, Austria, Belgium, France, and Germany. Thanks to this success, Alvaro has the opportunity to record and record his first album, titled “Eterno Agosto”, which is released with Universal Music on June 23rd, 2015. On April 8th of the following year, Alvaro Soler releases the single “Sofia”, which anticipates a new edition of his debut album, scheduled for the summer. In May 2016 the Spanish singer is chosen as one of the judges – together with Arisa, Fedez and Manuel Agnelli – of the tenth edition of “X-Factor”, scheduled for the following autumn.
