This is the biography Rihanna was born in Bridgetown, Barbados, on February 20, 1988, to Ronald Fenty, a half Afro-Barbadian, half Irish chief warehouseman, and Monica Braithwaite Fenty, a native Guyanese but half Afro-American accountant. Rihanna and Jameel separated after almost three years of relationship, as officially reported by an anonymous source very close to the couple, and later studied at the Combermere School, where she formed a musical trio with two of her classmates at the age of fifteen.

She served in the Barbados Cadet Corp, the basic training corps of the Barbadian defence forces, where she had the singer Shontelle as her drill sergeant. The group performed the single of Destiny’s Child Emotions. As soon as she turned sixteen, Rihanna moved to the United States of America and later, with Carl Sturken, helped her record four demo songs, including the ballad Last Time, a reinterpretation of Whitney Houston’s For the Love of You and what would become her first hit, Pon de Replay.

The demos have been sent to various record companies. Some of her recordings arrived at Def Jam Recordings, who offered her a contract for six albums.after signing a record deal with Def Jam, Rihanna spent the next three months completing her debut album. Her debut album, Music of the Sun, was released on August 12, 2005 in the United States of America. Produced by Evan Rogers, Carl Sturken, Stargate and Poke & Tone, the album debuted at number 10 on the Billboard 200.

Five months after release, the album was certified as a gold record by the Recording Industry Association of America. The song Music of the Sun has sold two million more copies worldwide in the United States of America. Its first debut single and first extract from the album, Pon de Replay, was released on August 22, 2005 and reached number 2 on both the Billboard Hot 100.

The single became a hit in a short time, reaching the top 10 of fifteen countries, including Italy. The second single, If It’s Lovin’ That You Want, was released on December 2, 2005 and was less successful than the previous one, reaching the 36th position on the Billboard Hot 100 and the 11th position on the Official Singles Chart; reaching the Top 10 in Australia, Ireland and New Zealand.

A month after the release of Music of the Sun, Rihanna began composing material for her second studio album, the first to be distributed worldwide.Rihanna composed the album together with Evan Rogers, Carl Sturken, Stargate, J. R. Rotem and Ne-Yo.A Girl Like Me was released on April 21, 2006 in Italy.

The album reached position 5 on the Billboard 200,the album was certified platinum by the RIAA for having sold about one million copies. The launch single, SOS, was released on March 7, 2006 and reached the top of the Billboard Hot 100, becoming her first number one singleThe second single, Unfaithful, was released on July 14, 2006 in Italy.

Rihanna started recording her new studio album in March 2009 collaborated with Chuck Harmony, The-Dream, Christopher Stewart, Chase & Status, Stargate and Justin Timberlake to compose the new album, and the single Who’s That Chick? a collaboration between the singer and French disc-jokey David Guetta from the latter’s album One Love, which received a good commercial response.

His fifth studio album, Loud, was released on November 12, 2010 and debuted in third place on the US chart, Loud also came first in Canada, Ireland, Norway, UK and Switzerland. The launch single, Only Girl (In the World), was released worldwide, and the second single extracted is What’s My Name?, a collaboration with artist Drake, pending the release of the original album.

The single reached number one in both the US and the UK, where Rihanna became the first solo singer to place five singles at number one year after year. On 14 February 2011 Rihanna brings home a Grammy for Only Girl (In the World) as best dance track at the fifty-third Grammy Awards.

The promotion of the album continues with the release of the third international single (fourth in the United States of America) of the song S&M, released on 21 January 2011 in the United States and on 11 April 2011 in Italy. Another single, Cheers (Drink to That), is released, the seventh in total and on 26 August 2011 her corresponding video, in which the Canadian singer Avril Lavigne, whose song I’m with You served as a sampling during the production of the song, also plays a short cameo.

On 2 October 2011, the title of the sixth studio album, Talk That Talk, was announced and released on 21 November 2011. The lead single of the album, We Found Love, produced by DJ and singer Calvin Harris, was released on 22 September 2011.The song has reached the top in many countries, including the United States where it dominated the charts for a total of ten weeks, becoming Rihanna’s single with the longest time at number one and the single with the most weeks at number one in 2011, and eleven in Canada.

Rihanna triumphed at the 2012 MTV Video Music Awards, receiving the coveted video title of the year for the We Found Love video, becoming the first woman to take home this accolade for the second time.

On 20 June 2012, Rihanna began recording her seventh studio album in London, working with leading producers such as Nicky Romero, Burns and David Guetta.On 27th September of the same year, Diamonds, the launch single for the new album of unreleased songs, was released and sent on radio rotation. The song Diamonds took off rapidly in the world charts and became number one in countries on several continents, including Canada and the United States, becoming Rihanna’s twelfth number one on the Billboard Hot 100.

In August 2019, a new song by the singer called Private Loving was recorded on the Broadcast Music Incorporated website, while the following month Rihanna signed a new record deal with Sony/ATV Music Publishing. Rihanna described artist Madonna as her idol and her greatest source of musical inspiration.

The singer praised Madonna’s ability to continually reinvent herself throughout her long career. Together with Madonna, the artist Mariah Carey was a significant influence on the Barbadian singer, who revealed that Vision of Love was the song that inspired her to devote herself to musical activity.

At the end of August 2008 the single Just Stand Up!, a song to raise funds for cancer research, was released.

Rihanna participated in the song with fourteen other famous singers on 2 June 2014. Together with the fashion icons of the moment, the singer boasts nine Grammy Awards, thirteen American Music Awards, twelve Billboard Music Awards, two BRIT Awards, four MTV Video Music Awards, four MTV Europe Music Awards, eight People’s Choice Awards and seven iHeartRadio Music Awards. Rihanna has been honoured with the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award, a coveted recognition that recognizes musicians who have left their mark on the global music scene.
